Services & Pricing

I offer a wide variety of creative services from custom built mascot costumes to traditional artwork. This page is an overview of my most popular services and the base prices of each.

Important+: Please note that the prices listed below for all Costume Services are based on the average cost of supplies/labor and are the minimum amount. The actual price of your costume depends greatly on its design and will be discussed and finalized on an individual basis.

Costume Services

Service	Description
"The Works" $900+	Includes one head, one hand-tailored body*, two hands, two feet, and one tail (for animal costumes). The hands are not permanently attached to the body, they are removable and attach to the sleeves at the wrists with snaps. The feet are also separate from the body and they do not attach to the legs at all. Snaps for the feet are only available by request for an additional fee.
"The Partial" $400+	Includes one head, two hands, two feet, and one tail (for animal costumes). These costumes are designed to be worn with regular clothing, typically "street clothes" such as a T-shirt and jeans for example. The hands are complete with shoulder-length sleeves. Longer length (knee-high or thigh-high) legs are only available by request for an additional fee.
Head $300+	A costume head with a static (non-movable) jaw.
Hands $30+	"Toon" hands, paws, talons, flippers, hooves, etc. These are glove-like, loose fitting pieces that only cover about 3 inches of your wrist. Longer sleeved hands are only available by request for an additional fee.
Feet $40+	"Toon" feet, paws, talons, flippers, hooves, etc. These are slipper-like, sized to fit "shoes" that will only cover your ankles. Longer length (knee-high or thigh-high) legs are only available by request for an additional fee.
Tails $40+	Animal tails. A distinctive feature of our tails are the attachments designed to fit your belt via two belt-loops with snap closures for ease of attachment and removal. (You won't have to take off your belt, just to put on or take off the tail. Just snap and unsnap!) However, If you are getting "The Works", the tail may be permanently attached to the body depending upon the construction.

Art Services

Service	Description
Character Sheet $40+	Flat color - 3 views of your character (Front face, left-side profile, and back view.) Please note: We require a character sheet for reference for "The Works," so you will need to select this service if you do not have a character sheet to provide us when getting your costume made.
Con. Badge $20	2.5" x 3.5" - no color - You get the original artwork (plastic sleeve and badge clip included.)
Button - No Color $15	2.25" circular button with pin backing. No Color.
Button - Digital Color $30	2.25" circular button with pin backing. Digital Color.

Please note that we do not offer costume bodies alone. Bodies are only included with "The Works." Nuku, a fox costume whose head was built by MixedCandy, is the only exception to this rule because his owner is my husband!

Payment

"The Works" and "Head" costume services require a 30% down-payment before BBS can begin work on your costume. This down-payment will cover the cost of materials needed for the making of your costume and it is NON-REFUNDABLE. All other Costume Services and all Design Services do not require a down payment, but before work on your commission can begin, payment must be made in full. Payment plans may be arranged for and should be discussed prior to sending any payments to BBS. All charges (and/or applicable payment schedules) will be itemized on an invoice for your convenience.

If you use choose to use PayPal to make a payment, there is no need to worry about adding any additional costs. We will pay for the 5% that PayPal charges us for using their service. Paying the 5% is worth the convenience PayPal provides for us!

All California residents will be charged 7.25% sales tax. This calculation will be included on your invoice.

Costume Construction

Heads

All of our costume heads are made of quality grade upholstery foam. Tighter, more fitted heads are available upon request and are built with foam on a balaclava base (a lightweight lycra ski mask).

Tails

If your costume requires a tail, the materials we will use for its structure will depend greatly on what kind of animal it is for. Typically, tails with a relatively small base, such as canine and feline tails, will only contain machine washable polyfil. Foam armatures may be used for tails that need to retain their shape, such as husky and dragon tails.

Our distinctive snap loops are available on all tails. However, if you are ordering "The Works", tails with large bases will be permanently attached to the body suit and its inner structure will be removable so that washing the body is not a hassle.

Hands, Feet, or Paws

You may request for your hands to be stuffed for that toony or bubble look. However, the polyfil will not be stitched into the hands, it will be loosely stuffed into the fingers and palm areas. Just slide your hand under the polyfil when putting the gloves on and reshape as needed. The stuffing may come out when you remove your hand from the glove. It is very important to remove the polyfil if you are going to machine wash them. If you are hand washing, the polyfil is washable and there is no critical reason to remove it if washed with care. Stitching the polyfil in may be requested for an additional cost. If your hand paws are designed with the animal's pads, we only offer cloth pads, no leather nor latex.

Feet are made of upholstery foam on a slipper base. All of our feet come with parade soles (a hard rubber adhered to the bottom of the foot for inside and outside use.) If your foot has a special design or you would like paw pads on the soles, it can be done for an additional fee.
